Currently in development, OFC youth and staff are working together to create an amazing mobile food booth. Starting in late January 2008, we will begin serving up our delicious recipes at an Oakland-based farmers market. Our weekly culinary delights, will consist of seasonal dishes such as roasted-fennel and white bean soup, coconut-beet salads, coconut-quinoa cookies and more!
All foods will be prepared hot and fresh, using fruits, vegetables and other amazing products from each farmers market vendors. We look forward to creating lots and lots of new yummy recipes!
Stay tuned! Our goal is to generate enough funds from this weekly market booth, that we can keep our gardening and nutrition education programs growing strong! Youth need jobs today! This program is way that we can not only generate "green jobs" for youth, but empower them to become leaders in Oakland's emerging "green" economy.
