**OFC’s Laurel Community Farmers’ Market and the OFC Food Pantry are happy to announce that we are now open for EBT Food Stamp Sales!**
The Laurel Community Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays year round from 10am-2pm at 4173 Macarthur Blvd and features fresh organic produce, local businesses and crafters, youth run food booths and more! The OFC Food Pantry is open Wednesdays and Fridays 12pm-4pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm at 4173 Macarthur Blvd Suite 10.

Youth Visit to UC Santa Cruz Farm – Youth organization Food What?! (http://foodwhatblog.blogspot.com/), The Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS) and the apprentices of the UCSC Farm hosted a youth day Saturday, August 15th. Food justice organizations from all around the Bay Area were in attendance: Oakland Food Connection, HOPE Collaborative, Alameda Point Collaborative, People’s Grocery, Berkeley Youth Alternatives, Farm Fresh Choice and more.

Youth Planting Day– OFC’s youth interns will be partnering with Urban Releaf (http://www.urbanreleaf.org/), a local non-profit organization to do some tree planting at West Macarthur and San Pablo Ave. in Oakland. Working towards making our community green!
Friday August 28th-Sunday August 30th
Eat Real Festival – Taking place in Jack London Square, the festival features local food vendors from all around the Bay Area! Hours for the event are Friday 4pm-9pm, Saturday 10am-9pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. For more information visit their website at: http://www.eatrealfest.com/
Saturday August 29th
CFJC Summer Fundraiser – The California Food and Justice Coalition (CFJC) is partnering with Bocanova restaurant for a dinner featuring local, organic ingredients and a talk by Laura Stec, chef and author of Cool Cuisine: Taking the Bite Out of Global Warming. All proceeds from the dinner benefit CFJC's newest campaign, Grow Local.
