What's new at OFC?
Hello all,
Just a brief announcement about a few upcoming events in the next few weeks:
Saturday November 15th is the OFC sponsored Oakland Community Farmers' Market in the Laurel District! Come check it out!
This week we will be welcoming back EGB farms to the market. Besides all the different varieties of apples, dried fruit and nuts that EGB farms offers, you have got to try their pomegranates. Delicious!
We will also be welcoming three new local artisans!
-Soapmaker Jay Ento of Naturally Delicious Skin (http://naturallydeliciousskin.com/index.html)
-Baker Victoria Bianchi selling biscotti
-Handmade jewelry from Rebekah Peterkin of Lwanga Designs
We will also be featuring Vital Vittles bread again this week as well as lovely produce from JP and family of J&P organics!

Finally, we want to extend a HUGE "thank you!" to everyone who came out to our fundraiser, "Will Dance for Food Justice" on Saturday, November 1st. The fundraiser was a lot of fun and we had a great time! Congratulations to "Jane in the box" "The Dude" and "Monsanto Zombie Seeds" for winning best costumes at the party!
We raised about 20% of our $4,500 goal thanks to individual donations at the fundraiser as well as online and mail-in donations. These funds are going to supporting our programs and keeping OFC going. It's not too late to contribute! If you would like to make an online donation check out our website: www.foodcommunityculture.org and click the "Donate" button. With your help we can get closer to our goal!
Thank you for your continued support!
Best,
Tori Lanterman
